Third generation business

GEOTECH is 'in the business' since more than 50 years. We are proud to represent the third generation of an international family business with locations in The Netherlands, France and Turkey.

We love what we do

Since the 70s we focus on the development and distribution of special effect pigments. During the years we've build a product portfolio with 16 product lines suitable for a wide variety of applications.

A Family History of Special Effect Pigments Distribution

At GEOTECH, we have a rich history of over 50 years in the distribution and production of special effect pigments.

GEOTECH has been a leading supplier of special effect pigments since 1972. With a rich family history in the distribution of pigments, our founder, Mr. Theo Polman, began offering natural pearlescent pigments made out of fish scales in the early 70s. In 1980, his son Mr. Coert Polman founded Mearl International B.V., a subsidiary of the Mearl Corporation, to distribute artificial pearlescent pigments in EMEA countries. Four years later, Mr. Coert Polman founded GEOTECH to supply coarse particles made out of aluminium and polyester foil as a special effect for the plastic and coating industry. We quickly became an international well-known supplier for glitter particles, being the first company to introduce high purity, cosmetic grade glitter.

From Quality Control to New Product Lines: GEOTECH's Evolution

In 1999, the third generation took over the management of the company from Mr. Coert Polman, represented by Ms. Madelon Polman and Mr. Harold van Haren. They opened a laboratory for quality control, technical service and product development, solidifying GEOTECH's position as an industry leader. In 2007, the portfolio was extended with the introduction of the Geopearl and Geodiamond product lines.

Quality, Sustainability, and Expansion

In 2014, SGS certified our Quality Management System based on the ISO 9001 and GMP standard, and we became an official approved supplier of the Estée Lauder Companies. In 2016, we acquired Paillettes et Pigments Sarl (PEP), a French distributor of special effect pigments and turned the company into a GEOTECH sales office for the French market. In 2018, we moved to a new location in Haarlem, The Netherlands, with a renovated facility that meets the latest standards.

And in 2021, 2022 and 2023, Ecovadis awarded our sustainability policy with a Gold medal, placing us in the top 5% of companies assessed by them. We are proud of our heritage and look forward to continuing to provide innovative and sustainable solutions to our customers.
